January is a very symbolic time of year. It only marks the beginning of a new calendar year but also offers a fresh start of life. On the social scene, however everything takes a rather slow pace. It is not a peak season for wedding and there isn’t much spending too. Organizing a wedding in January however can be fun.

  • Decide on a budget and Stick to it.

Following the festival month of December when most people spend like crazy, it is often joked that January is a month of empty pockets. If you are heavily counting on pledges from people, it may be stressful.

  • Consider a casual Theme

January is a time for relaxation. Out door wedding receptions are usually popular at this time of the year compared to formal wedding receptions held in doors. Because of this, it is advisable that couples embrace a more bohemian theme accessorized with bright colors.

  • Decide on a date and book with the church first

Luckily not much activity goes on in church during the month of January. This however should not prevent you from booking with earlier. Different churches have different standards of procedure. It is always safer to book early to avoid disappointments.

  • Venue

Unlike December when most venues are booked, January offers lots of breathing space for party organizers. The fact that there isn’t much partying going on in January, means that venue prices are little lower than usual.

  • Service providers:

Service providers do shoddy work because they do not know their clients. A wedding planned in January gives the couple and service providers ample time to bond. For a more successful wedding, couples should seek service providers who provide all services.

  • Bakery:

Cakes are a must-have at any wedding reception. Good cakes, however, take a lot of time to make. Couples planning to wed in January should place their cake orders three or four months to the big day

The cake is usually baked four or five weeks to the wedding but we need 2 months to get the ingredients right and also make desired design on the cake. This not only leaves room for implement but also makes last minute changes possible.
